Insulated Pet Doors

Most pet doors, like the “best selling” dog door shown on the left of FLIR thermal image, do nothing but let cold into your home. The flap leaks, and the metal frame conducts the cold outside temperatures right into your house.

RANGER Pet Doors by Freedom Pet Pass are engineered from the ground up to keep the cold air outside where it belongs. The insulated frame performs better than most doors, the airtight seal on the insulated flap doesn’t let a wisp of cold air through. You can see the difference with a thermal camera, and you can feel it in your home.

The Pet Door Built for Extreme Winds

Airtight Seal Technology

RANGER pet doors have our proprietary DoubleMag™ technology, which gives our pet doors a complete seal to eliminate drafts in even the windiest areas.

RANGER pet doors by Freedom Pet Pass are engineered from the ground up to stand up to the worst wind, cold, rain, snow, and heat.

15X Better than Energy Star Standards

Avoid Leaky Pet Doors

Most doggie doors are extremely leaky, which leads to cold, drafty rooms and high energy bills. In fact, over 90% of the energy loss from conventional pet doors comes from air leakage – letting cold air directly into your home. The RANGER pet door with DoubleMag seal is virtually airtight, so it keeps winter air outside where it belongs.

10X Better than Energy Star

The DoubleMag seal is so good, third-party lab testing showed that it is 10X better at preventing outside air from coming in than Canadian Energy Star requirements for human doors.

500X Better than Competitors

Other brands pet doors don’t actually make a seal. Even those with a “double flap” or magnets to “keep the door closed” aren’t good enough, because they don’t actually seal out the wind and drafts.

Lab testing with the “best selling” pet door shows how much better RANGER dog doors by Freedom Pet Pass perform.

Under official testing conditions, the competitive door leaks over 16 cubic feet of air per minute per square foot. That’s over 500X worse than the RANGER dog door standard of 0.03 cfm/sq ft!

What People are Saying

  • Polar Vortex? No Problem!

“Today, December 17, 2016, was the last day of a Polar Arctic Vortex that hit us over 3 weeks ago. Temperatures were -25 to -54 degrees Celsius (with wind chill), 24 hours a day. I have to tell you, the Freedom Pet Pass door did not let in any noticeable cold air! Nor was it cold at all to stand next to. We have been amazed and would recommend this door to anyone!”

  • So Worth It

We live in a small town that is the highest point in Alberta, East of the Rockies. The winds here, as well as the snow can be crazy. The door lets in no wind, or snow. It withstands our dogs running (yes, running) in and out of it many times a day. We spend a lot of time in our garage and have decided that come summer when we can take out garage door off, we’ll be getting another RANGER door for our garage so our dogs can come and go in there as well as the house. If you’re looking for a dog door that can withstand weather and high energy dogs, this is the door for you!

  • Wish We Found RANGER First!

Just wanted to let you know that I installed the Insulated dog door and it has made a world of difference. Our other door worked fine (used a sensor on the dog collar to unlock the door) but it was almost like having a window open, especially noticeable when the cold weather appeared. We had installed it during the summer. Even with a heater on the opposite wall, about six feet away the area was still cold even when the original dog door was closed.

With the RANGER door installed it was like the wall was still insulated with 3 1/2 inches of fiberglass insulation. Only took the dogs a couple of days to adjust to the new door. The previous door had a clear flap and this one has a white flap. Only sad that we didn’t find the RANGER door first, but definitely glad we did find it. Thanks for making a great product!
